First months: learnings

As some of you might have noticed, we launched New Amsterdam Capital a few months ago. Quite a lot of people have expressed they like to follow us on what we are doing, so we plan on sharing some insights every now and then.

Now that we've been live for a few months, there is actually a lot to share. Some wins and some losses, but most of all; our learnings. Two decades of recruitment experience gave us a great kick-start, but we noticed that we are still learning every day. 😉

Working with great scale-ups and grown-ups (aka corporate ventures) is what inspires us. Through our growing network of VC's, we meet more and more scale-ups and grown-ups with an international mindset.

By running various projects at different kind of businesses, we have fine-tuned our services as well as our pricing models and we are very proud to be able to offer a great recruitment solution.

What we learned is that most scale-ups have similar challenges. By raising another round or growing the business exponentially, recruitment, talent acquisition and attracting a-players becomes challenge numero uno.

They all need one or more key-hires, they need more people but the current recruitment solution is not bringing in results, or they have nothing in place at all.

Getting an in-house recruiter or interim-recruiter to support is 'a solution', however, the good ones are hard to find too these days.

We Just Love Technology

Even though our biggest competitive advantage is our 2 decades of recruitment experience, one of our unique selling points, is that we use technology to work efficiently.

Bootstrapped, we're using several tools that we need to offer the best service possible to our clients. From great SAAS products like Teamleader, Recruitee, Mixmax and of course LinkedIn, another great example is our awesome colleague Debbie Breg.

Through Dreamassist, she is now our virtual PA, helping us out with everything related to customer experience and operations. We just love technology (and great people).

 

 

First Signs Of Growth

Besides growing the teams of amazing scale-ups and grown-ups, we have also expanded our own team. After Tim, Quentine, and Debbie, Lianne Middeldorp will join us as of May 15th.

Lianne brings in recruitment experience, a fresh attitude, and hands-on power to help our clients. On top of this, she is a great illustrator and will challenge you (and beat you) any day for a round of golf. We found a great article with more background on her right here.
